Waterfowl Widowmakers is owned and operated by Shawn Sims. Shawn is a proud member of the Professional Retriever Trainers Association (PRTA). He is a respected trainer and competitor with over 20 years of experience dedicated to training retrievers. Shawn’s care and attention to the development of each dog has provided the foundation for them to achieve numerous wins and placements in AKC field trials and SRS events, and earn numerous AKC and UKC hunt test passes and titles.
Our Locations:
Waterfowl Widowmakers has kennels and training grounds in Alabama and Montana. Our primary location is in Fitzpatrick, AL. In late Spring, when the temperature heats up, we move north to our “summer” location in Charlot, MT. When the temperature begins to cool, we move back south.
By moving between locations, we are able to :
Train in optimal climate and weather conditions year round
Train on land and in the water year round
Have access to field trial and hunt test events year round
Have access to a greater variety of terrain and water
